To you I am an object
A player in this virus war
Standing there without protection
You wouldn’t send a soldier without a gun
Yet you send me without a mask
There is no concern
Of how I feel
I am a chess piece, a pawn in your game
The colour of my skin
The gender of my body
You have only judged
But when covid came
You saw me, my title as your own
To use
To shied yourself
While you live
And I might not
I want you know
I do not hold ill will
But that I have a name
And that I am an NHS Hero.
